Regelmatig kijk je terug op het werk dat je maakt. En soms sla je dan, stap voor stap, een andere weg in. Dan wordt het werk anders. Weg van de gebaande paden, een nieuwe route kiezen. Jarenlang dezelfde weg bewandelen wordt saai en is een gevaar voor je creativiteit. Je manier van werken mag geen automatisme worden. Je keuzes mogen geen bekende trucjes tot succes worden.
Zo is deze serie ontstaan. Kleur is wat de beelden kenmerkt. Nog steeds het spel met licht, de gelaagdheid van mijn werk, maar toch totaal anders proces dan wat ik gewend was te doen. Een spannend proces dat nooit stopt maar continue evolueert.
You regularly look back on the work you make. And sometimes you have to take a different path, step by step. Then the work will be different. Off the beaten track, choose a new route. Walking the same path for years becomes boring and is a danger to your creativity. Your way of working should not become automatic. Your choices should not become well-known tricks to success.
That is how this series was born. Color is what characterizes the images. Still the play with light, the layering of my work, but still a completely different process than what I was used to do. An exciting process that never stops but is constantly evolving.
